The scope of activities of engineers include: organization of freight and passenger trains on the rail network; planning of freight and passenger traffic; process design of freight and passenger stations;, development of technical specifications for cargo loading and securing; preparation of uniform operational processes of JSC RZD stations and approach lines of industrial enterprises, application of logistics methods to optimize transportation process.
Graduates work as managers and engineers of all ranks at the stations, in the offices and chairs of railways, and those who tends to project and research work in the institutions for the design of railway stations and junctions, research institutes of mainline and industrial transport.
Since 2011, Federal State Educational Standards of Higher Education have been introduced.
